2. Venue listings
Vibely lists Cape Town venues — bars, cafés, restaurants, padel courts, gyms, studios, trails and beaches. These listings are built from publicly available information — chiefly open map data from the Overture Maps Foundation and OpenStreetMap, and what businesses publish on their own websites. Geoapify and Google Places are used to enrich and verify that data, not as the source of the listing.
A listing typically holds the venue's name, address, coordinates, category, opening information, a photo and a short description. Where a listing includes a business phone number or email address published by that business, that is information the business has itself made public.
Your venue is listed and you'd rather it wasn't? Email privacy@vibelystudio.com and we remove it. No questions, no retention call, no delay.
3. If we contact you about your venue
We may write to a business once to ask whether it would like to hear from us. POPIA section 69 allows a single approach for the purpose of requesting consent, and that is what that email is.
- If you say no, or don't reply at all, we won't contact you again.
- If you say yes, we contact you only by the method you chose.
- We keep a record of who has declined, so that we don't write to them by mistake.
4. If you email us
We keep your message and contact details so we can reply and keep track of the conversation. We don't use them for anything else and we don't sell or share them.
5. This website
This website uses no analytics and sets no advertising or tracking cookies. We don't profile visitors or build a picture of who you are. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set a strictly-necessary security cookie to protect the site from abuse — it identifies traffic, not people, and isn't used to track you. Because nothing we set requires consent, there is no cookie banner.
6. Where information is stored
Our databases are hosted in the European Union (eu-west-1). Some service providers we rely on may process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we use providers that are subject to data-protection laws providing a comparable level of protection, as POPIA section 72 requires.
7. How long we keep it
- Venue listings — for as long as the venue is listed, or until removal is requested.
- Do-not-contact records — indefinitely. This is the only way to reliably honour a refusal.
- Correspondence — 3 years from your last message to us.
8. Your rights under POPIA
You may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong or out of date;
- delete information we no longer have grounds to keep;
- stop using your information for direct marketing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interest.

9. Complaints
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa:

10. The app
This policy covers this website and our venue listings. The Vibely app collects different information — location, check-ins, account details — and is covered by its own privacy policy inside the app and at vibe-ly.net.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information about you, we'll say so directly rather than quietly editing the page.
